Kaitlyn is joined by theologian Marc Cortez to answer the question: What will my grandma look like in heaven? Will she look like I remember her, or will she look younger? Kaitlyn and Dr. Cortez also discuss other questions about our life in eternity: How old will we be? Will we be the same gender? Will we recognize each other? Dr. Cortez also teaches us why these questions are surprisingly important for understanding humans, God, and God’s plan for creation.
What will we look like in heaven?
Updated: Oct 7
Just listened to the broadcast with Dr. Cortez. I’ve been thinking about this a lot. First, we now live in a universe which defines time and space. If we enter eternity, time cannot then exist. It’s like dividing by zero. And since space is defined by time (it takes an amount of time to go from here to there - the dimensions of a physical body are defined by time and space) eternity in heaven cannot be defined by the physical concepts which we experience. I ask myself, if I were a god existing in timeless eternity and created beings wholly other than me, how would I communicate concepts to them. It would have to be in somewhat metaphorical terms…

Good afternoon! Recently, we decided to upgrade the windows in our office to make the space more comfortable for work. We were looking for options to reduce the heat from the sun and came across the website https://www.tintfit.com/shop/ . We found a large selection of tinting films that were perfect for our needs. The site is user-friendly, everything is categorized, there are detailed descriptions and photos of the products. We placed the order very quickly, and the delivery was on top of the game. The films are easy to stick and perform their function perfectly. Now it's cooler and more pleasant to work in our office.
I listened to today's podcast with Dr. Cortez. It was sell done, but I have a question about something left out of the discussion. Neither Dr. Cortez nor Kaitlyn mention the stories of the rich man & Lazarus or of the Transfiguration. The rich man recognizes Abraham & Lazarus. Peter, James, & John know it's Moses & Elijah. (who knows, names could have been said?) It's as if however our bodies are different in the after life, we are still us in a unique way and people who have never met know who each other us. I think that would comfort the girl wanting to know her Nana.
